Yarrow (Achilea millefolium) is an excellent wound healing plant. It's Latin name, Achilea millefolium, is derived from Achilles the legendary Greek warrior, nearly invulnerable, who was taught the use of this plant from the centaur Chiron, to use on the battlefield to help heal his wounded soldiers. With a history tied to the battlefield and to wound healing, Yarrow was known as Herbal militaris in antiquity. Yarrow stalks are the traditional item used in reading the I Ching, a divinatory practice originating in ancient China.
Yarrow is typically used to help treat colds, flu, fevers and menstrual cramps, as well as helping to regulate the menstrual cycle, but it’s healing virtues are vast. Having strong anti inflammatory constituents, yarrow can help ease pain, skin irritation, and help to increase collagen production, which in turn helps skin, connective, and soft tissue repair, and helps to maintain youthful elasticity.
Our Yarrow Spagyric is a potent, slightly bitter, powerhouse of physical wellness and a dynamic ally for healing. Take 5-7 drops in tea, green juice, water, or directly by mouth to bring the benefits of this plant ally into your day.
