Curcuma longa (Turmeric)

Turmeric is well known for its healing qualities. A potent anti inflammatory, turmeric helps protect against oxidative stress and the effects of chronic inflammation, which cause a general wearing down on the body’s systems over time. Inflammatory response is common to every major disease as a symptom, and some current theories of the dis-ease model attribute large scale systemic problems within the organism to long term, low level, chronic inflammation.

One of the active curcuminoids (active constituents in turmeric) most studied is curcumin, which has been shown to be highly beneficial in multiple ways. Curcumin has a positive effect on brain function by stimulating the synthesis of DHA inside the body. DHA is the main structural component of the brain, cerebral cortex, skin, and retina. Curcumin also increases BDNF, hippocampal neurogenesis, and the removal of amyloid plaque, all of these contribute to overall neural wellness, increases in memory, learning, cognitive performance, as well as mood stabilization.

Our Turmeric Spagyric is an easy way to get a potent medicinal dose of turmeric on a daily basis. As with all of our elixirs, 5-7 drops is a full dose. Taken daily, it can help to relieve inflammation, improve cognition, and support overall liver & digestive health. Because of its potency, we suggest taking Turmeric Spagyric in a small amount of water, or adding it to a strong tea, but direct on the tongue is OK too!
